Jan 01, 2004 This User’s Manual provides detailed instruction for the design of commercial and high-rise residential buildings to ensure their compliance with ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1–2004. In addition, this Manual: encourages the user to apply the principles of effective energy-conserving design when designing buildings and building systems; offers information on the intent and application of. Jan 15, 2010 Refer to ASHRAE 90.1 2007 Users’ Manual Page G-28 for more explanation of ASHRAE requirements. Below is an example from the User’s Manual: The supply air volume for an 80,000 ft² medical office building is 120,000 cfm, as determined by the simulation program using a 20 ºF temperature difference between space temperature and supply air. Be avoided if the user elects to use either (3) ASHRAE Standard 90.1–2013 User’s Manual. 1. Ashrae 90.1 Energy Code

by Jbs091908 a3 — September 24, 2008 — A partnership between the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) will make the ASHRAE Standard 62.1–2004 and ASHRAE Standard 62.1–2007 User’s Manuals available for free (regularly $55 or $69) with LEED registration under several rating systems. Std 62.1 is associated with a prerequisite and credit in each of those rating systems, and is thus essential to LEED.

Also available in this package is the “62MZCalc” spreadsheet that assists in the Ventilation Rate Procedure calculations, for both the 2004 and 2007 standards. LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance includes this spreadsheet as one submittal path requirement; for other rating systems, this spreadsheet is a helpful tool for documenting compliance with the “Minimum IAQ Performance” prerequisite and the “Increased Ventilation” credit.

In order to receive access to the free download for one year, the project must be registered under one of the following rating systems:

  • LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance (references 2007)
  • LEED for New Construction v2.2 (references 2004)
  • LEED for Core & Shell v2.0 (references 2004)
  • LEED for Schools (references 2004)
  • LEED for Commercial Interiors v2.0 (references 2004)
  • LEED for Existing Buildings v2.0 (references 2004)

If you are on a project team associated with the rating systems above, USGBC says you must first log into LEED Online and a project under one of the above rating systems. On the Credit Scorecard and Status page, click on EQ Prerequisite 1. Within that page, under “Credit Resources,” click “Download” next to the ASHRAE 62.1 User’s Manual and 62MZCalc header. The files will download as a .ZIP file.
